The Blended Mental Health First Aid in the workplace includes two course components:
COURSE COMPONENT 1
SELF-PACED INTERACTIVE E-LEARNING (5-7 HOURS)
Developing mental health problems covering:
• Depression
• Anxiety problems
• Psychosis
• Substance use problems
Mental health crises covering:
• Suicidal thoughts and behaviors
• Non-suicidal self-injury
• Panic attacks
• Traumatic events
• Severe psychotic states
• Severe alcohol and drug use effects
• Aggressive behaviours
COURSE COMPONENT 2
INSTRUCTOR-LED FACE TO FACE (5-HOUR SESSION)
This course component allows participants the opportunity to revise and consolidate practical skills in a group environment. It is designed to be delivered only after participants have completed the e-Learning component of the Blended Online MHFA Workplace Course.
In this face-to-face instructor led training session participants will:
• revise and learn how to apply the knowledge and skills learnt in the e-Learning component; and
• engage in group activities.
This will provide participants with the opportunity to:
• revise the e-Learning content and the MHFA Action Plan
• clarify any points of uncertainty remaining after completion of the e-Learning modules; and
• apply the MHFA Action Plan to relevant scenarios.
